Owner/Director
My name is Amanda De Guerre
Dr. Amanda de Guerre is a Registered Psychologist with over 15 years of experience in mental health and social services. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology, specializing in Addiction Psychology. Dr. de Guerre specializes in working with First Responders, Public Safety Personnel & Military.
With a warm and empathetic approach, Dr. de Guerre creates a safe and non-judgmental space for her clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. She believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and works collaboratively with her clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals.

Throughout her career, Dr. de Guerre has worked extensively with first responders, both on and off the front line. She brings both personal and professional insight into the impact this work can have on individuals, their partners, and their families. Grounded in evidence-based practice, she integrates a range of therapeutic modalities—including CBT, CPT, EMDR, and mindfulness-based approaches—to support clients in healing and personal growth. In addition to clinical treatment, she provides fit-for-duty assessments, psychological injury support, and medical advocacy for workplace accommodations as part of her comprehensive approach to care.
She has a particular interest in moral injury and the ways in which personality characteristics and coping behaviors influence trauma responses and recovery. She has supported numerous clients in navigating the complex psychological, emotional, and ethical challenges that arise from workplace experiences. Through the use of trauma-focused interventions, she helps individuals process and integrate these experiences, fostering resilience, meaning-making, and post-traumatic growth.
In addition to her clinical practice, she is actively engaged in research and professional training. She is an Assistant Professor at Concordia University of Edmonton and serves as Associate Faculty at City University in Edmonton within the Master of Counselling Psychology program. She is the founder and director of the Sentinel Minds Research Lab, where her work focuses on advancing knowledge related to trauma, moral injury, and psychological resilience in high-risk professions. She is also deeply involved in supervision and mentorship, supporting the professional development and clinical competence of emerging mental health professionals.
When not in the therapy room, Dr. de Guerre enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, and practicing mindfulness. She believes in nature's healing power, and often, therapy elements are incorporated into her practice to support her clients' well-being further.
Whether you are seeking support for specific challenges or seeking personal growth, Dr. de Guerre is dedicated to helping you on your journey toward positive change and a more fulfilling life.
